Story

1939
Military Chronograph

In the 1930s, chronographs were all about function. Those sophisticated timepieces were worn by Navy and Air Force officers who used the scales to calculate distance, speed, or even heart rate. They were the smartwatches of their era.

1939

I pay tribute to the chronographs of that era because of their beautiful dials that provide a wealth of information and astonishing legibility. Those watches were technical timepieces; thanks to the information they provided, battles were won and lives were saved – DH

In the 1930s, chronographs were built big and robust to withstand the hardships of battle. The large dial made measurements easy to see at a glance, and the pushers were often oversized so they could be operated with gloves.

1939

A chronograph crafted in the military tradition, with three measurement scales and large pushers.

Here, this watch offers three calculation functions: Telemeter: measures the distance that sound travels. Tachometer: it calculates the average speed according to the distance travelled. Pulsometer: it counts your heartbeats.
